I'm curious to know how the casting process is conducted? How are the girls recruited? Furthermore, I'd like to know who does the scouting and how are they, themselves selected for the job?

I find my own girls either through the internet, agencies or word-of-mouth.
If I like the look of them I talk to the magazine editor and he says yes or no.

Thats it really. No casting couch, no sex for the job etc.

Yeah...I really liked the Private Castings series as it gives you an insight into the girls, plus excellent behind-the-scenes footage of the photoshoots themselves, which is even more interesting I find if you have already seen the print incarnation of the shoot in question.

The only downer is when Pierre comes out from behind the camera to 'test' certain models :( . Fortunately, there is usually only one such scene per castings movie :) !

Thanx for the reply ff. It really isn't a disappointment since I was simply curious of the process. Please tell me is your process standard for most any other directors/photographers?

I think it is mostly the case with stills - I'm not sure about video though, I would need to see how a model would present herself for a moving image.
