Can anybody tell me if Private Castings X 40 is available to buy on DVD? And if so, where can I buy it? I've searched the net for hours, but so far have only found VHS copies.

I'm sorry to have led you on a wild goose chase: Castings X 40 isn't due out on DVD for another 4 or 5 months, and I see it's unavailable on VHS in Private Shop (too bad: you could have got it for 5 bucks!). Count yourself lucky though: my estimated wait time for Private Video Magazine 26 is 3+ years.

Private Shop's "Coming Soon" to begin with, then "newest pre-releases" on a site like Xonair to plan future purchases from the vendor of choice. I learned that recent Private releases formerly due out on 10/11 will begin to be put on Pure Play Media's release schedule 10/25 from a press release on AVN. (Will I be able to get "House of the She-Wolves" on 10/18 as Xonair says? Probably not.) CX36 is scheduled for release in November (per Private Shop), and since these come out once a month #40 is 4 fingers after that. (That crude and cumbersome, I'm afraid.) But I'm a fanatic and insist on getting the newest movies ASAP (usually 2 days after release).
You're in Europe though: I don't know how it is for you.
And if there's a better way, I'd like to know about it.

No Lisa in the Castings. I think we have Max Hardcore to thank for this naughty little girl. Large as she looms in the Pure Anal comp, she only did half a dozen scenes back in '94, and is long gone. Fans of Private Video Magazine remember her well, though.

I noticed Max Steiner was the director on the scenes of Lisa Sommer, but I wasnt sure if he was the same person as Max Hardcore in the US

also in videos it was told she is Swedish and the locations for the videos were Sweden and Finland

I don't discount the possibility. Woodman did a lot more castings than were published, and if he comes back to Private we'll likely get to see some of them.

What does Private wait for to resume DVD releases of Castings (and also Classic tapes)?

Poor Ricardo. So close! I can't believe the Castings--of all Private's lines--sold poorly. Private Classics maybe. Could it be that PW required the masters to encode them on www.woodmancastingx.com? (I don't know how these things work.) He did say that he was going to put the complete old collection on there.
