i don't know if it's no longer available, but i do remember that the story involved murders of the girls after sex. are these the scenes you have in mind? - 'the tower' isn't the only private feature by woodman to include scenes of murder. and there's some great sex in it.

Recently saw Arrowhead and Apocalypse Climax 2 on DVD, both have rape-like scenes. In the 1st Tammi Ann is taken at "arrow point" on a trip down the river, setting up the story line of the movie with is very much like Deliverance. In Apocalypse Climax 2 there is a scene where a "KGB slut" is given a going over.

I also have the Tower 2 & 3 on DVD, it has some truly classic scenes with some classic stars, like the DP with Coralie and the 3-on-1 with Lisa Harper. The ending was different to how I remember seeing it originally though (the murderers being gay lovers). I think I saw an edited alternate ending in the 90s VHS release. Noticed The Golden Triangle is not available either.

it would be a shame if neither 'the tower' nor 'the golden triangle' are now available on dvd, as they're both classics. coralie, to my mind, is 'the face' of the tower - though it was another model, aliza, whose character threaded the story together. lisa harper's freckles, blue eyes, blowjob stare and anal speciality stick in my mind from the good old days of private video. who was that absolutely fucking drop-dead gorgeous girl with long blonde hair who starred in 'the golden triangle'?
i beg to differ with flashboy, though, about the desirability of non-consensual sex themes in private works. rape fantasies don't do anything for me, and i think they're dubious. although pierre woodman left 'the tower' murders to the imagination, stopping short of depicting them directly, i remember thinking that the 'slasher' menace and a shot of the bundled, disposable corpse of a girl victim were rather nasty, and gratuitous in the sense that they were 'end-on' to the sex and inessential to the movie's value as porn.
on the other hand, i'm not against stylised representations of violence or gun-play in private movies when these are parodies of mainstream movie genres and wittily woven into the erotic appeal of the film. in nic cramer's 'operation sex siege', which is obviously a take on 'under seige', 'die hard' and 'speed', etc., there is a deliciously sadistic moment involving the delectable ivy crystal, her spent captor and a hand grenade... having just emptied the guard's nuts for him, and while he is still in a state of post-coital rapture, this angel-faced minx wickedly withdraws the pin from a bollock-shaped hand grenade attached to the belt he is wearing, nimbly makes good her escape, and leaves him to his doom. he realises the trick which has been played on him all too late, only a couple of seconds before he is blown up in a white flash! naughty, but nice... a moment of existential truth for the guy, in which the realities of sex and death - his death - coalesce.

Hi guys, when I did see the tower I and 2 had them on vhs, it also had subtitles in english, which I really miss from private films mostly on the early ones as with all the dirty talk they had which seems to be missing from a lot of todays films.

In the first film I think there was one rape seen, in a room full of video tapes. The guy in black (you never saw his face, it was either Dave Perry or Frank) told the girl he had watched her on cctv fucking her girlfriend and now he wanted a piece of her.

The tower 2 had I think two scenes of incest and I think 3 sort of rape scenes one which was in a lift in which the lady in question was told to hold open her ass so he could "blow his load up her little brown hole" which he did and then kept on ass pounded till "she thought her ass was on fire". The more I think back and remember the girls and the sex in 'The Tower' trilogy and 'The Golden Triangle', the more I wish these classics were re-released in some form, in DVD format. Okay, the offending narrative preliminaries and links might now need to be trimmed or cut out altogether, but couldn't all the luscious hardcore action which is at the centre of these movies be played around with, MTV style, and re-released in newly designed versions - chic and sexy but inoffensive? I recently got an ex-rental of The Golden Triangle on video but looks like it is extensively cut and only runs for 1 hr! I also have a copy of the Tower on DVD, I guess Private has withdrawn it from it's catalogue as it doesn't conform to the direction in which it wishes to go.

The Tower is not in our back catalogue simply due to the location of the shoot rather than any rape/incest scene. I can't really get into the details, but the story is not quite as exciting as it has been deemed...

It's been interesting to read all the speculation about why certain Pierre Woodman titles are no longer available in their original form, and to consider why these films might be in need of censoring or re-editing. A lot has been written about 'The Tower' and 'The Golden Triangle.' Nerdgirl has told us that in the case of 'The Tower' the problem was to do with the location, and that the reason for the film's withdrawal is less sensational than we had all conjectured. In the case of 'The Golden Triangle', on the other hand, it appears that the problem was a thorny one to do with a girl in the cast, Natacha.

I finally got around to ordering 'Sweet Baby' vols. 1 and 2 this week, and when these DVDs arrived I was interested to note that on the box covers the wording of the title has been changed to 'Sweet Lady'. I assume that this alteration has been made to eliminate any possibility of a dubious or undesirable ambiguity: out of context, "baby" might be misconstrued as suggesting under-age...? If I'm right, it's reassuring that Private is taking this super-sensitive approach to a revised presentation of its products: this shows that the company is serious about its responsibilities as a world leader in the production and distribution of 'civilised' porn.

That said, I couldn't help wondering whether 'Sweet Babe' might have been more appealing than 'Sweet Lady' as a replacement title. The word 'babe' doesn't have the same ambiguity that 'baby' might have - it is less vulnerable to being misconstrued - but it does sound pretty cool. Then again, 'Sweet Babe' lacks that catchy third syllable which 'Sweet Lady' preserves...

I recently ordered and received the deleted Private DVDs 'The Tower' and 'The Tower 2 + 3' from an American retailer, Adult Video Universe. Both DVDs were produced in 2000, and I was surprised and delighted to discover that these releases were still in stock. The Adult Video Universe site includes customers' reviews of titles on sale, and the following review of '2 + 3', together with comments already posted in this thread, left me with no illusions about what I was buying. 'The Tower' DVDs are edited versions of the original VHS releases, and certain scenes with good-looking models and great sex are not included. I remember these missing scenes from old VHS copies, but even so I've been thrilled by the opportunity to acquire the edited DVD editions. The 'surviving' scenes are premiere-league Woodman, and after all they make up, by far, the greater part of the original movies. It's been fun to watch again the scenes with Alyssa and Monique Covet - in the light of Woodman's recent 'A Life In Porn' reminiscences about casting for 'The Tower' and his personal hotel-room frolics with these girls!

'The Tower' has an interesting resonance in Budapest, as the name of a swanky restaurant near Vaci U.
