Mermelade was there any reason why Private have gone down this route? It is less secure and I'll probably not by Private DVD's from this place if it is going to come via the Royal Mail. Did no one see the Panorama documentary on them?

I too was very unhappy with the new Private Shop setup.
I was a really good customer over the years and spent lots of money on Private dvds, but will not be buying from the new website. Private have lost a direct buying customer. I dont like to buy and take delivery from America. Customs have stung me for import duty and my packages have been openend in the past. Buying from within the EU seems safer & quicker.
Private have lost out again from another customer.

I'm trying to measure the time that packages are taking to arrive here in Europe.

They promised me that via normal post it should not take longer than a week. All orders arrive in Germany and then sent from there to other European destinations.

We are testing and I'm taking a close look at the processes.

What is wrong with the Private Shop website. I keep getting the following message;

Not Found

The requested URL /shop/img/_products/DPSF007/ss4.jpg was not found on this server.

Ever since Private changed it's Shop, the site has been terrible. The servers often do not work-i.e., allow access. If you can access and place an order, the site may be unreliable in permitting downloading.

I have had a membership to Private for several years and have enjoyed it. But the site is starting to fade in quality-especially user-friendliness. Also, the main private website seems to offer fewer newer photos than previously.

Just wanted to let people here know I ordered 6 DVDs 4 of which were in-stock so they sent those out next day 15/04/10 and received them today 05/05/10. The other two should be with me shortly as they were dispatched about a week later as they were not on hand at the time. The dispatch email says a time of a brief 1 week to an unforgivable 6 weeks. It didn't get held up by customs either, which is the usual reason for delays and then they like to charge for the privilege of holding onto your item for a month.

Oh, It took me ages to order as well as it kept putting this free VOD in the basket, which I didn't want, and kept bringing up an error message about the VOD not making sense to the basket because the value didn't match up to what it was expected to, this was because the VOD was free and the list price was say £9.99 for example. Pissed me off, but once I learned where the error was I could just delete the VOD form the Basket every time I ordered the next DVD. So customer satisfaction on the ordering part 01/10.

The old site was superior in every way and in Europe.
