We are migrating the Private Forum so maybe next time you enter its look will be different.

We will be stopping the Forum for a short while but it will be back soon, don't worry

We expect the new version to be much better and we hope we can all enjoy it.

Bad news is that we cannot migrate the avatars so you will need to upload them again. Maybe it's time for some of us to change it ( I think I'm changing mine )

Very cool! This update was much needed!
There are a lot of community functions here: do you really want to support all of them? How? The 'Album' feature is really nice, but I think there should be some rules in this game, no?
However, a great update!
(I think you have to activate the option of others being able to send you PMs.)

Edit: I was able to add an event to the calendar (Jan 9). You might want to restrict this a bit.

The new Forum is looking good and the fromat is the same as one I am already used to in another group I am a member of. My only comment is that we can't see pictures any more in the actual body of the text and have to click a link. It's a small point and not too much of an inconvinience. Are you intending to add a chat room at some stage?

First of all I want to thank you for your kind comments. It was our intention to improve the forum with this new platform and we are happy to receive positive feedback.
About the picture embedding in the text body; you can insert images in the text body by clicking the image icon that appears in the menu of your editor (the little yellow square with the mountain) this will pop up a small window where you have to place the url of the image.
Here is an example using the logo image of our forum.


Links to members area photos want display of course as you have to login to see them. That's a privilege of Private Members!
It's at signatures where you cannot place image links or html code due to security reasons.

I can`t see embedded pictures, avatars or even the icons in the editor. It there a temporary problem or do I need to update my software or something?

(edit) Just found out I just have to edit my options, silly me Anyway why are images not alowed in the signature?

Dear Mason,
All users have to follow the forum rules http://privatecommunity.com/misc.php?do=showrules. Any way we are going to be really close to this forum and do an exhaustive moderation work (with your help of course).
So if any user abuses of these tools he will have to face consequences, banning is some cases. We believe in good will of our users. Spammers will be kicked out immediately. We strongly believe that albums and calendar can be great features for sharing and community building.

Thanks I can now see the pictures but when creating a message I still can't work out how to display the image. I don't see the "yellow square with the mountain"?

Are pictures going to be alowed in signatures?
Also, smileys seem to count against the number of pics you can put in a post.
The default sorting of threads is alphabetically now, it is a bit of a bother to have to change it to date every time. Can this be changed?

Any suggestions regarding the header apart from the linking?

As far as I am concerned the new header is just fine it depicts all that is good about Private. Variety is the spice of life so a mixture of the new and old types would also be good.
