I'm hoping to find some information before plunking down $$$ on a membership.

There's no "tour" section, no sample videos to download, no mention whatsoever on the format & quality of movies that members can download. Tech support - I suppose - is only available to members, as my requests have been flat-out ignored.

So, for existing members - could you please let me know - new/current movie scenes that are available for download - what format/resolution/bitrate are the files in?

I've got memberships at a few sites (Suppose I shouldn't namedrop?) with 1280x720 or 1920x1080 non-DRM .wmv files for users to download, with bitrates at 4 or more Mb/s. I'm hoping downloadable content from Private is as good?

No argument that the women are absolutely knock-out gorgeous, but low resolution and/or crappy compression make for total buzzkills when trying to watch them in action!!

If you love what you see, I'm certain that you will enjoy being a member. The quality of download depends on the quality you choose. Even low quality is easy to watch and has minimal to virtually no grain, probably dependent on the quality of internet provider, programmes and computer.

Welcome mrvicarious, as Beachy said you can chose with different quality based on your bandwidth. I am always downloading in highest quality and find it great... no worries, you will find top quality at Private and lots of like-minded people in this forum.

So... I went to the most recently posted movies - like Private Life Of Sharka Blue - the only download options I was given were medium or "high" .WMV formats. The "high" format gave me a 640x480 resolution file.

Please tell me I'm looking in the wrong place - the stuff I've seen is horrible.

Although I am a technophobic, I do understand that mrvicarious is sending a message to Private to improve quality. It is clear that mrvicarious was reasonably happy with the content viewed, but clearly unhappy with the quality of download. It would be an advantage to take the comments seriously in an effort to remain the best and be ahead of the competition.

Good point Beachy. Its interesting to see how few movies are available in iTunes format, just compare with what is available on ColorClimax and Brazzers. Come on Private, we all know you produce the best, give it to us in the format we want.

All the comments make sense re. quality. At the same time, Private is not only about movies (even though we all love pictures and I would enjoy more HD movies - there has been a thread about this and was disappointing http://www.privatecommunity.com//hav...one-t2473.html) but adds loads of great pictures and all magazines. I really enjoy flipping through old magazines (and new ones too). So let's wait the private.com to see if there are new good things.

Im personally hanging on by a thin thread to my membership now.

With the 10% shop offer gone and generally not so improved shop and
full movie download cut back I see fewer and fewer reasons to stay.

Not to sound like a downer but Private really needs to step up its game. Take a look at its competition and analyze what can be done better. Why is it that it is so hard to go HD for private for example? I never heard the argument from the industry when they went from VHS to DVD, but for Private going HD is not possible while its very possible and done by the competition.

Where did the big budget production go? We see stuff like Pirates 1 & 2 from the companies in the US so its still possible.

Perhaps less luxury cars and villa's for the producers and top execs and more money for production equipment? (ok this is a humourus wink).

But honestly with camera systems like The Red and the full HD capabillies of even pro DSL'r today its mind boggeling that picture on the more recent Private Specials DVD for example are worse than the 10 year older productions. Clear compression artifacts and fussy lenses should not be something tolerated in Privates productions.!!!

Well, I was holding out until Private opened their newly revamped site, hoping that decent quality movies would be part of the upgrade.

No such luck.

Seriously - not only are most of the movies I've downloaded in 640x480, but they're LETTER BOXED, so the actual content is only 640x360!!!

So I've already canceled my membership. I really feel like I've wasted my money here. I've checked out a LOT of the pay adult sites, and while a lot of them have had "so-so" quality video, I'm especially disappointed with Private because I was expecting more from the name.

Before I go, I'll do you guys a favor and mention some sites that are actually worth checking out if you want decent quality video. (And hope the mods have the balls to leave my post unedited)

Someone already mentioned Brazzers. Great family of sites. It's one of the few that I actually keep a recurring subscription to. Naughty America has a good bunch of sites under it's roof as well. Both of those are great places if you like a lot of the big-titted, plastic-y, L.A. type pornstars.

I'm guessing a lot of you are here at Private because you prefer the European stars - I know I certainly do. If that's the case, you owe it to yourselves to check out a few sites:

DDF Productions - Last time I had a subscription there, there weren't enough regular updates for me to stick around much longer than a month. The quality of the videos and beauty of the models, however, is outstanding. I noticed recently that they started a "one pass for all sites" membership, and since I've only seen a couple of their sites, I'm probably going to sign back up there to see how the rest are. (Probably tonight, in fact, now that I'm done with Private)

Also, go to either DPFanatics, HornyEuroSluts, and/or AssholeFever. These are all parts of the 21sextury family. (DO NOT sign up for an account at 21sextury itself though!) Depending on which site you join at, you may or may not have to wait for access to the other ones. If you consider joining, pick the site that most tickles your fancy and start there. Right off the bat you will get membership to 30-odd sites that are part of their family. I will warn you - a large number of the sites feature "DVD" quality video rather than HD/Blu-ray quality. Compared to Private, it's still better, but - sites like the three I mentioned above and a handful of others have up to 1080p quality videos that should not be missed.

And no - I am a paying member at both Brazzers + 21sextury's sites - I don't work for either of them (or any site for that matter) and don't get a kickback if people join.

But in all seriousness folks, take a current star like Aletta Ocean that's featured here on Private. She's effing gorgeous, right? Trust me when I say the videos here do not do her justice. Go over to DPFanatics, sign up for a membership and check out the videos featuring Aletta (and many others) there. I would say the difference is night and day, but that's putting it mildly.

Take care everyone. I might stop by the forum here now and then, (Maybe I'll see an announcement that Private has woken the F up and started posting HD quality videos!) but otherwise I am done with my stay at Private.

Hey guys. Had to pop back in and comment on this, 'cos I found it to be just a little too entertaining.

Private posted Mia Leone's video scene "Big Tits In The Office" earlier today. It's featured once again in <sarcasm>glorious</sarcasm> 640x360 resolution, chock full of blurry compression...

This scene was featured just over a year ago on DP Fanatics, (wait, where have you heard that name before?) in crystal-clear 1280x720...

I was immensely amused by this. Apparently Private needs to buy scenes from other studios and release them in less than DVD quality. I don't get it.

The new site is a BIG JOKE. Private is Years behind the competition. Every time they make big promises and i always ended up being disappointed. Keeping the old site updated was sometimes a impossible task to them it seems. And now the new site, no longer a photo section (this was the only reason why i kept renewing). Downloading the movies was impossible in the past (no support for download manager) and this isn't any better on the new site. Releasing old movies from years back as new releases come on .. In short to frustrated with this site ...

I've been a member for a lone time (years in fact) but this new site was the ... that make me decide to no longer renew my membership.

When my current membership ends it's bye bye.

Some years ago, Private was the very best pornsite. I really loved all the picture contents, the magazines and the old Private movies (which I think are way better than the new ones). Until some days ago, this was still available. Not anymore.

I will deeply miss the old site. But not the new one.

It can only be saved if someone comes to their senses and bring back ALL the photosets, photo stories, photo categories, pornstar spotlights, wallpapers, backstage sets, magazines, centrefolds, Sextras and movies of the old site. If you add better movie quality than before, one might start talking about an improvement of the site.

Until then, there are many wonderful competing sites to explore.

The new site is lousy. It's slow, and it only has a small portion of the content of the old site.

I'd visit the old site every day or so. Now I simply can't be bothered. I'm cancelling.

I already cancelled my membership as I was very disappointed with the new site. I will pop into the forum now and then to see if they came to their senses.
