Hi,
I have a technical question concerning Private Compilation DVDs (for example "PLO Rebecca Linares" or "Happy Endings"). On these DVDs, there are scenes with different picture formats, 4:3 (the old standard) and 16:9 (the new standard). The problem I have is that on these DVDs, the 16:9 scenes are letterboxed to 4:3, meaning the entire DVD is 4:3. Instead it should be the other way around, meaning the 4:3 scenes should be pillarboxed to 16:9. In other words: most TVs nowadays are 16:9 LCDs. Make the discs for these TVs, not for old 4:3 TVs. To show 16:9 material letterboxed to 4:3 on a 16:9 TV results in black bars on ALL sides and this is just ridiculous. For background information: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikiped...wiki/Letterbox https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikiped...wiki/Pillarbox Thanks!
