Review of ‘Orgy At The Villa’


For this entry in the Private Gold series, director Andrew Youngman (billed as Andrew Newman in the opening credits of the movie) delivers some highly watchable, arousing porn without bothering too much with ‘high concepts’ or troubling himself with parodying any hits from mainstream cinema - a direction sometimes taken in Private Gold. In fact, the plot of this film is very simple, a token narrative used for the single purpose of linking together a series of sizzling sex scenes. Youngman uses an ‘old skool’ device of Private storytelling to seal the deal: a female narrator with a silky voice and accent briefly tells us all we need to know about who’s who and what’s what, in the intervals between the sex.

Zenzah Raggi plays Mario, a sharp-suited dude who used to be one of the biggest nightclub owners in Chicago before turning State Witness to avoid a life sentence for racketeering. Despite selling out, Mario retains his taste for the bar scene and his eye for hot babes. Only his friend Marcos knows his true identity. Once a year, Mario visits the wealthy Marcos at his villa in the Algarve with a girl on his arm to join in the poolside sex parties for which Marcos is famed. Mario’s criminal back-story turns out to have no real relevance to the plot; it serves only to make him instantly recognisable as a certain sort of sleazy porno character. Scene 1: Madison Parker / Zenzah Raggi (aka Zenza Raggi)
